‘Burnley’s Got Talent’ returns: time to apply

FORGET The X Factor – Burnley’s own talent show launches this month and now is the time to let your star shine.

Burnley’s Got Talent launches on Friday,
September 28th, and this year the contest promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Organisers are now
appealing for budding stars of the future to come forward and grab the opportunity to be in the spotlight.

Singers, dance troupes, comics, bands and more will be competing to be crowned the winner in a grand finale at Burnley
Mechanics.

The winner will take a cash prize and the chance to head up a PR campaign for a mystery Burnley business.

And the competition, now in its second year, is set to be slightly different with just two auditions open for performers.

Wannabe stars will get just one chance to impress the judges in the preliminary rounds.

The first audition will see solo and multiple performers on Friday, September 28th, and in the second audition on Friday, October 5th, bands and dance groups will battle it out.

Both events will be held at Koko’s nightspot in Burnley.

A new twist for this year is boot camp which awaits acts who score the most “yes’’ votes from the judges.

There will be no audience at boot camp and the acts will perform for the judges, who will decide who makes it through to the voting process.

After the voting, two acts from each category will be put through to the live show.

A second twist is the “wild card’’, giving judges the chance to save two acts from the semi-finals to perform at the headline show.

At the final, the judges’ vote will count as 50% of the mark but the audience will be called on to help choose the winning act.

Burnley’s Got Talent organiser Raynor Pepper said: “There isn’t long to go before the competition launches and we know there is a lot of talent out there so come on, don’t be shy, get applying and show everyone that Burnley is bursting with talent.’’

Application forms are available from Roy’s Jewellers, Moonline Fashions and Koko’s.
