A MEMORIAL day will be held on Sunday as a tribute to a Pendle soldier killed on duty in Afghanistan in March.

Colne Royal British Legion Club will host the event in honour of L/Cpl Michael Foley, a former Colne Primet High School pupil who still has family members living in Pendle, from 1 p.m.

It will feature bands, a children’s entertainer, sideshows and a buffet.

Businesses across Pendle have provided prizes for a raffle and the day will also raise money for the Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

The event will last all day with children allowed to stay until 6 p.m.
