AN armed gang who terrified customers and a shopkeeper by brandising a knife and hammer in a shop raid are being hunted by police.
The incident happened at 8 p.m. on Monday, September 22nd, at the Spend and Save Off Licence in Higher Reedley Road, Brierfield.

The three offenders, who disguised their faces with clothes, demanded the cashier hand over the contents of the cash till along with a cigarettes and spirits. They fled the scene in the direction of Ribchester Way.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the offence or who may have seen the three men before or after the attack. They are keen to identify if a get-away vehicle was used by the men.

DC Joanne Pemberton, of Nelson CID, said: "Thankfully no-one was hurt during this robbery, but it must have been a terrifying experience for both the members of staff and customers.

"Although the faces of the three men are obscured, we are hoping that by releasing these pictures somebody may recognise the clothing and be able to assist us in apprehending these offenders."

Anyone with information is urged to contact DS Steve Holgate or DC Pemberton at Nelson CID on 472644 or contact CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
