Diesel thieves target Nelson garage

DIESEL worth £650 has been stolen from a heavy goods vehicle locked in a Nelson garage.
Raiders broke into the premises in Halifax Road in the early hours of Sunday and forced the lock on the HGV to siphon 500 litres from its tank.

In addition, a Sony CD multi changer with speakers, an orange petrol strimmer, a 25 litre bottle of alloy wheel cleaner and two, empty 25 litre containers, in all worth £130, were taken.

Items worth £190 were reported stolen from another garage in Halifax Road the day before.

The theft happened between 5 p.m. Friday and and late Saturday evening and £150-worth of tools and a £40 stereo were removed. A spanner set, electric drill, planer and saw were among the tools taken.
