SCOOBY the police dog has been out and about in the pubs of Nelson as part of the latest crackdown on drug use.
Police launched the latest operation after concerns expressed by licensees at a meeting of their Pubwatch group.

Officers have visited licensed premises, predominantly in the Nelson area, to advise licensees where drugs, particularly cocaine, could be stored or taken.

"It is part of an operation that is ongoing for the next 12 months," said PC Mark Dibb. "There will be similar measures carried out in the future in the fight against drugs."

Anyone who has any information on the use of illegal drugs is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or local police on 425001.
