Fake sports gear could land Nelson trader in jail
Henri-Lloyd, Nike, Timberland, Dolce & Gabana, Fred Perry and Lacoste goods seized
A NELSON trader caught with a haul of fake designer clothing could be jailed.
Marcus Parkes, of Chapelhouse Road, has already admitted possessing the counterfeit goods after 93 pairs of trainers and 177 articles of clothing were found at his home last year.
He is due to appear before Pennine magistrates for sentencing on Friday afternoon after magistrates asked for pre-sentence reports.
Trading standards officers estimate the property would have had a street value of well over £10,000 had it been genuine.
The offences relate to four jumpers and three pairs of shorts bearing the Henri-Lloyd trademark, 18 tracksuits with the Nike Swoosh device, five jackets bearing the Timberland wording, six tracksuits with the Dolce and Gabbana trademark, five "Fred Perry" jumpers and five tracksuits purported to be of the same brand and 14 tracksuits and two polo shirts made by "Lacoste".
