New bridge opens in Victoria Park
THE Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle have officially opened the new bridge at Victoria Park, Nelson.
After eight months' work, Coun. Allan Buck and Mrs Barbara Mitchell cut the ribbon to the £150,000 Pendle Council project before the public used the crossing, on a popular route between Carr Hall and Nelson town centre.
The original bridge was condemned and work began last September on the new bridge, designed by the council's Engineering and Special Projects Team, and built by Lancashire County Engineering Services.
