UP to 4,000 people are expected to join a procession to celebrate the birthday of the prophet Mohammed tomorrow (Sunday).
Muslims are expected to take part in the parade round the streets of Nelson centre as part of their Eid celebrations.

Participants will set out from the Ghosia Mosque in Clayton Street at 11 a.m. Roads are expected to be closed around the route of the procession, which will last two hours.

The route is Clayton Street, Fleet Street, Barkerhouse Road, Chapelhouse Road, Beaufort Street and Every Street, before returning to the mosque. Speeches will be held at the halfway point in Walverden Park, and food stalls will be set up along the way.
