Two men have been arrested following successful drugs warrants in Colne.
Police swooped on houses in Thomas Street and Bankfield Street on Tuesday and today - recovering a large amount of substances, believed to be Class A drugs.
Drugs paraphernalia associated with high level drug dealing and a high value in cash was also seized.
Amir Afzal (44), of Thomas Street, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply. He has been remanded to prison.
Another man has also been arrested, and is still waiting for interview.
Sgt Kim De Curtis said: “The arrest of these individuals will no doubt have an affect on the drug dealing activities in Colne and West Craven, which can only produce a positive improvement on the residents of Waterside and Greenfield areas, who were seeing a constant stream of drug users in their area and were obviously fed up with the drug dealing activities. We have already received a positive result by residents during the execution of the warrants.”
