PENDLE residents can put their questions to the new leader of the council during a live question-and-answer session on social network Twitter on Wednesday.
Between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., Coun. Joe Cooney will take questions on anything from the council’s priorities to the finances.
Coun. Cooney said: “Although the council has been using social media for three years, we’ve never done a live Q & A session.
“I’m keen to try something new and am already active on Twitter.
“Social networks are a great way of sharing information and communicating in short bursts.
“You can ask me anything, so long as it’s about council business and isn’t governed by data protection rules.
“It’s hard to know what to expect really – it should be an interesting hour.”
To pose your question to Coun. Cooney, tweet @CllrJoeCooney between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Use the hashtag #tweettheleader to follow the conversation.
Coun. Cooney has also recently launched a new blog on the council’s website.
To read his first post, go to www.pendle.gov.uk/blog/theleader.
And if websites and social media aren’t for you, contact the leader of the council by phoning him on 07843 242566. He also holds regular coffee mornings in his Vivary Bridge ward.
