Generous businesses in Barrowford are doing their bit for charity by donating an array of raffle prizes to next month’s sell-out Mayor of Pendle’s Moonlight and Magic Charity Ball.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle Coun. Tony Beckett and his wife Margaret went on a whistle stop tour of the village’s shops to personally collect and thank the businesses for their support.

The Charity Ball which is being held at the Ace Centre in Nelson is raising funds for the Beckett’s chosen charities which include Help for Heroes, the Samaritans and Women’s Refuge.

And while out and about they even got a special treat from one of the donating shops, the newly opened Sweet Feet Fish Spa. The couple had chance to sit back and rest their feet while enjoying a taster foot pampering session with the Garra Rufa fish who gently suck away dead skin.

Coun. Beckett, said: “We thank all those companies and individuals throughout Pendle who have donated prizes to raise funds for our chosen charities.”

Other shops to donate include ACDC Lighting, Little Feet, Electrical Sales, Angles, Pure Health and Beauty, Scratch Nail Bar, Scruples, Turners, Kimora, IMAGESbyDAVID, Presentation and The Last Trading Post.

If you would like to make a donation to the Mayoress’ Charity Appeal Fund, which is currently raising money for the same charities please contact the Mayor’s secretary, Fiona Standring, on 661636.
