a COMMUNITY project to repair and improve a Barrowford church pathway has been completed.

The work at St Thomas Church, Barrowford, took eight months to organise as planner Stuart Gervaise found businesses willing to donate the necessary materials and got the go ahead from the vicar, the Rev. John Hallows.

“The existing path was in a very poor condition and needed renewing,” said Stuart, a firefighter based at Burnley.

“I used my previous building experience to do the job. It was very hard work in all types of weather and took three months to complete.

“We would like to thank all the members of the congregation and the local community who took part in the work.”

Stuart also thanked the following businesses who contributed towards the work: Marshalls Blockpaving (Ramsbottom); Wolfenden Builders Merchants; Enviro Skips; Lanlee Timber Supplies; Lamberts Timber; Burnley Hire Centre; Darren Whitaker; Jewsons (Colne); Homebase (Burnley); B & Q; Freshfields Enterprise (Burnley).
