A VILLAGE primary school has received a special award from the Bishop of Blackburn.
St Michael and All Angels Primary School has been praised for the high standard of education it offers as a church school.
Headteacher Hilary Wood and governor Louise Bleadsale attended a service at Blackburn Cathedral to collect the award.
Mrs Wood said: “We are really pleased to have received the award, it recognises the quality of the religious studies teaching and worship we provide as well as our links to St Michael and All Angels Church.
“We work hard to engage the children and make our religious education as creative and as meaningful as possible. Last year a group of children that we called the mustard seeds were responsible for planning worship.”
