A plan to convert Pendle Leisure Trust’s former home in Colne into a boutique hotel and health and beauty spa has been submitted.
Pendle Council has received the plan from applicant Dr Zia Ud-din to change the use of Bank House in Albert Road from an office to a health and beauty spa.
The application also includes plans to demolish an existing extension and out building and replace it with a three storey extension including four spa accommodation units and a three bedroom dwelling.
Documents submitted as part of the application state that the proposal would create eight full time equivalent jobs, increase car parking from one space to six and would bring back into use a building that has been vacant for nearly three years.
The application states that regard has been given to the Albert Road Conservation area and that the proposal respects the historical significance of the building, ensuring the existing nature of the area is preserved and enhanced.
Services that the high end health and beauty spa would offer include Hammam (Moroccan sauna), a swimming pool, hairdressing salon, nail bar, overnight accommodation for spa guests, a laser clinic, skin rejuvenation clinic and cosmetic dentistry services.
