Bradley gets its own website

A new website has just been launched for Nelson’s Bradley area residents – to help shape plans for the future.

It is part of “Bradley Big Local” which brings together local residents’ talents, ambitions, skills and energy to help shape the plans for the future.

It follows a £1 million award for the area from the Big Local Trust, backed by the Big Lottery Fund in 2012.

The website, which was unveiled at a special event at Nelson’s Hodge House Community Centre off Regent Street, allows people to feed back ideas on changes they would like to see in Bradley.

People can also register community events they are organising.

A councillor for the ward, Labour leader Coun. Mohammed Iqbal, spoke at the event. He said: “If you live or work in Bradley, please visit the website to find out more. Here, you can join the ideas forum, put forward ideas on changes you’d like to see in Bradley and spread the message about any community events you’re organIt’s your chance to help shape the Bradley of tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, children from Hodge House Monday Club enjoyed a moment in the spotlight after putting forward designs for a Bradley Big Local logo for the website.

Winner Isabella Kaddis, aged seven, was delighted to see her logo online.

She said: “I’m really happy to have won and to see my logo on the website.

“I designed the logo when I was six and found out on my seventh birthday that I had won.

“ It was a brilliant birthday present!”
