A Bradley Soup Event has been organised in Nelson to achieve innovative change in the area.

Taking place at the Grassroots Centre on February 15th from 6pm to 8pm, the event will see members of the community present their plans for local initiatives.

A Bradley Soup statement said: “Bradley Soup is a community-organised initiative to empower residents, establish new networks, prompt change, foster critical dialogue, and support local ideas.”

Attendees will pay £5 on the door, listen to the proposals - which will be no more than four minutes long - and allowed to ask four questions.

After all proposals have been made, soup will be served, before a vote is cast on which initiative is to be funded and pursued.

Taking all the money raised on the door, the winner will then instigate their plan, reporting on their progress after a three month period.
