The Barnoldswick and Earby branches of Skipton Building Society have become donation points for the West Craven Food Bank.

Donation boxes can be found in the building society’s branches in Church Street in Barnoldswick and in Victoria Road in Earby.

Jo-anna Beecroft, the new branch manager for the West Craven, hopes this is the start of increased community engagement for the building society.

She said: “I came in from the Halifax in February to work both in Earby and Barnoldswick which are two community branches of the Skipton Building Society.

“We should be working more closely with the community. When I arrived there wasn’t so much community involvement.

“I asked the team who we thought would be a good link to get greater links with community.

“Julie Bryan, who we knew is actively involved with the food bank, is one of our regular customers, so it seemed like a perfect fit to have a drop-off point for the food bank.”
