Residents of Brierfield and Reedley are demanding that their Gala is brought back to life.
For many years, it was the highlight of the year for residents there.
For the last few years the Gala has not taken place but Coun. Mohammad Hanif is leading the charge to “Bring back the Brierfield and Reedley Gala”.
He said: “The Gala was one of the highlights of the year for most of Brierfield and Reedley residents who used to turn out regardless of rain or shine.
“Many organisations used to be involved in the Gala to make it a great success.”
Coun. Hanif added that volunteers are required to develop and work on a Gala Committee.
If you are interested to get involved email your details to Coun. Hanif on: firstname.lastname@example.org
Coun. Naeem Ashraf, chairman of Brierfield and Reedley Area Committee said: ‘This is a fantastic idea. The Gala used to be a great local success where everyone was proud to get involved.”
A public meeting is being held to discuss the Gala on Wednesday, July 15th, at the Brierfield Community Centre from 7pm.
