On a day of Royal baby celebrations, one Brierfield family have welcomed their own little princess into the world.
Raza Hussain (30) and Fareena Liaqat (29) were delighted with their new arrival who came on the same day as the birth of England’s future king.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s son, who is third in line to the throne, was born at 4-24pm on Monday sending a wave of excitement around the globe.
Just a couple of hours later and Raza and Fareena, of Stanley Street, saw the birth of their third child at Burnley General Hospital.
Little Urwa, which means “beautiful flower”, was born around 10pm weighing 6lbs 12oz on a busy day for the Burnley’s Central Birth Suite which saw 11 boys and four girls born.
The excited family – including brother Abdullah (5), Hamna (6) and uncle Farooq Liaqat – gathered at the hospital to celebrate the news.
Proud dad Raza said: “It is lovely. We are very happy. It is our holy month – the holy month of Ramadan and the month of blessing. God has
blessed me and the family with a beautiful daughter.
“It is extra special. We will be celebrating with the family.”
Former Walter Street Primary School pupil Fareena said: “I came into the hospital early in the morning but she was not delivered until 10pm at night. It was very long.
“She was 14 days late and I couldn’t wait to have her.
“The family are very excited that she was delivered on the same day as Kate. It has been talked about on TV for months. It was a special day.”
