building Society stalwart Alison Armfield had her own special anniversary date when the Queen celebrated her Diamond Jubilee.
The nation’s special weekend also marked 40 years’ service with the Marsden for Alison, who is manager of the society’s Colne branch in Albert Road, and lives in Burnley.
She joined the society in 1972 and worked in the investment and mortgage departments at the main office in Russell Street, Nelson, before her talents took her to the retail network and she became a familiar face in offices across the area. Before moving to Colne she also managed the society’s branch offices in Barrowford, Nelson and Burnley.
Alison marked her ruby anniversary with a short holiday with her husband, Mick, and daughter, Lucy.
“It is quite extraordinary achievement to have completed 40 years service with the Society,” said Marsden chief executive Rob Pheasey.
“Her commitment to the Society and its members is evident, bringing a highly personal and professional service to our members in Colne. I would like to express my thanks to Alison on behalf of all her colleagues and we hope to retain her services for many years to come.”
