SPECULATION is rife that Burnley Football Club’s chief executive Paul Fletcher is to step down.
The former Clarets star is reported to have submitted his resignation after four years in the role.
The reasons behind his decision allegedly centre on boardroom disagreements over the new University College of Football Business at Turf Moor.
It is understood Mr Fletcher, who was awarded an MBE for services to football in 2007, will stay on in the role until the end of the season.
The news comes the day after Burnley Football Club reported a loss of £4m. in the year following relegation from the Premier League. Turnover plummeted from £45.4m in the Premier league year to £27.4m in the return to the Championship.
