Pendle Jobs Fair is now just one week away, and with some of the biggest businesses in the world attending, you don’t want to miss it!
The event at the Muni in Colne, organised by Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson, runs from 11am to 4pm on Friday and has drawn employers and training providers from all over the North West to show Pendle people just how many opportunities are out there for those wanting to get into work.
Tesco, Asda, Boundary Mill and Matalan will be giving advice on getting into retail, or if engineering’s more your thing, have a chat with representatives from HopeTech, Merc Engineering, Graham Engineering and Euravia. If you’re interested in working in care, Pendle Support Care Services and Stocks Hall Care Group will be there. Also in attendance will be Hoseasons, Liberata, the Army, the Police, 24hr Recruitment and Pendle Personnel.
For those looking for additional training or starting an apprenticeship, there will be plenty of opportunities to find out what is available. Nelson and Colne College, Burnley College and LCC will showcase local placements, and the National Apprenticeship Service will provide information for both apprentices and employers. Maybe you need to upgrade your manual handling qualification, or want a food hygiene certificate so you can start your own catering business; Training 2000 and the North Lancs Training Group can help you find out what you need to progress.
While the main hall will be packed with employers and training providers, sessions will be taking place in the Lesser Muni to provide more specific guidance on applying for jobs, interviews, and apprenticeships.
Mr Stephenson said: “I am passionate about getting local people into work and I am delighted we have such a wide variety of employers and training providers at this year’s fair. I hope it will enable people to see the opportunities available right here in Pendle.”
