Pendle Wavelengths and Inside Spa have won Gold in the prestigious Health Club of the Year Awards.

The Nelson leisure centre was voted the best in the North West ... and what makes the accolade even more special is that the competition judges were the club’s own members!

Now in its third year, the Members’ Choice Health Club Awards received 40,000 votes from members rating their club on the quality of facilities, customer service and value for money.

A total of 400 clubs entered, from a mixture of small independents, public leisure centres, hotel clubs and some of the best known brands in the industry.

All the winners were announced at an awards presentation at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, hosted by TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith. Mark addressed the winners, saying: “These awards are regarded so highly because the judges, all 40,000 of them, are your harshest critics.

“They are the front line. They experience your facilities and service on a daily basis and so are in a unique position to assess your performance.

“In an increasingly competitive market, getting the membership experience right is more critical than ever. By winning, you have received the highest recognition your industry can offer – that’s a job seriously well done and

something to be immensely proud of!”

Pendle Wavelengths Centre Manager, Quammer Iqbal, added: “We are so proud to have won this award.

“The whole team at Wavelengths and Inside Spa works extremely hard to deliver a high standard of service and value for money. This award reiterates that most of the time we get this spot on.

”I would like to thank all our customers who voted for us and also made some excellent comments about the service we provide.

“After last year’s silver award, this year we went for gold – and we got it!”
