Staff at Nicholson’s Butchers in Railway Street will donate50p from every pound of sausages sold during the week - both in-store and online - to the Help Harry Help Others charity.
This is a tribute to Harry Moseley, a brave little boy who died recently aged 11. Harry died from in inoperable brain tumor, but spent his last months raising money for Cancer Research.
At Nicholson’s, there will be lots taking place throughout the week, including lots of sausage tasting and a “create your sausage competition”. Everyone who purchases 1lb of sausages during the week will be entered into a prize draw to win a meat hamper!.
The shop has created two sausages especially for the event - Blackcurrant Delight (pork with blackcurrants) and Legendary Lancastrian (pork, apple & black pudding), both of which won Gold Awards at this year’s Pork Sausage of the Year Competition, which are limited edition and will only be available during British Sausage Week.
Shop spokesman Faye Moffat said: “The shop will be decorated in all things sausage and all things British and we really hope that people will come along and help us raise some money for Cancer Research.”
