FIGURES released this week show 810 people have taken up an apprenticeship in Pendle in the last year, up 70% compared to the number for the last academic year. This is a bigger proportionate increase than in either the North West (62%) or England (58%).
Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson said: “This is great news for Pendle, showing above average growth in apprenticeship starts and is an achievement for employers, training providers and learners too.
“Nationally the Government has exceeded its target for the creation of apprenticeships helping meet the needs of businesses by providing colleges and training providers with more flexibility. This is good news for businesses, especially in Pendle.”
