Tenor Morris Horsfield has notched up 50 years of being in fine voice with the Colne Orpheus Male Voice Choir.

Members gathered to celebrate his accomplishment which has seen him perform many duties over the years including secretary, chairman, press officer, archivist and committee member.

Morris, who is from Earby and sings as second tenor with the popular choir, was presented with an engraved tumbler and a bottle of malt whisky by former conductor Jack Leeming at the choir’s presentation and dinner evening at Colne Golf Club.

Three other Orpheus members – conductor Matthew Leedam, choir secretary Michael Timberlake, and former choir registrar Ian Short – received framed certificates to mark 21 years’ membership with the choir.
