A school reunion saw former classmates from across the North West get together since they went their separate ways 40 years ago.

People travelled from Swindon, Rochdale and Yorkshire for the reunion organised by classmates from the former Colne Grammar School who left in 1976, the final year before it became Nelson and Colne College.

Organised by Carl Ross, Karalynn Pickering and Cath Stephenson, the party was held at Wetherspoons in Colne.

Carl said: “I was completely blown away that 14 of us took the time to attend the reunion for the 40th anniversary.

“It was a wonderful evening. There were several people who send their apologies and we are planning a second get together next year.”
