A bookworm from Colne has become one of the youngest talents to complete the Lancashire Reading Trail.
Harry Hodgson (5), a pupil at Lord Street Primary School, has now earned himself a gold certificate - after reading 50 books from Colne Library in just one year.
The football fan particularly enjoyed the works of Julia Donaldson, the author behind The Gruffalo. And according to frontline assistant at Colne Library Darren Ward his dedication has been a “shining example” to other youngsters in the area.
Mr Ward said: “He has been working really hard at his reading.
“It just shows that at five you are not too young to be starting the trail. I would encourage all children to reach out and do it.
“We find it is really rewarding, not only for the children, but for parents as well.”
And Harry’s mum Sarah Hodgson, of Gibfield Road, added: “We are all really proud of him. Harry likes going to the library and choosing his books.
