Colne bypass route would ‘increase Earby traffic’

Earby councillors have written to Lancashire County Council opposing the preferred Colne Bypass plan and asking whether the town has been taken into consideration.

Earby Town Council has sent a letter to Phil Barrett, Head of Highway Services at County Hall, after last week’s full town council meeting highlighting significant concerns.

In the letter, it states the consensus from the meeting was that “traffic from the M65 through Earby would increase considerably should the proposed plan go ahead, and this would have a detrimental effect on the town as a whole”.
