A unique church challenge that captured the imagination of 20 parishioners has raised an impressive £2,000.
Back in January Karen Wilkinson, treasurer at St Michael and All Angels Church, in Foulridge, came up with a £10 mission.
Members of the congregation were asked to turn one note into many more in time for Easter Sunday.
Over the months, there has been something for everyone to enjoy - including a teddy bear’s picnic, fudge making, coffee mornings and tours around the Dales.
Other imaginative ideas for the challenge included a “guess the weight of the fruit cake” game and a special Easter quiz.
A church spokesman said: “Easter Sunday saw the Easter Bunny welcome the congregation of over 100 into church giving chocolate to the children and admiring the wonderful Easter Bonnets the ladies were wearing.
“A beautiful service was led by the Reverend John Knott, with the children taking part in the sermon.
“Karen expressed grateful thanks to not only those who had taken up the challenge but to all those who supported and gave so generously.
“She added that not only did it raise much needed funds for the church but it also brought people together”
“There were certainly lots of talking points and memories made for years to come.”
