Colne Pharmacy will be moved into the town’s new multi-million pound health centre after proposals for an air conditioning unit have been brought before councillors.
NHS Property Services confirmed that the lease and terms and conditions between themselves and Colne Pharmacy have been agreed following concerns from one of our readers.
In an email to our paper, one Colne resident asked why the pharmacy, which did not move across in time for the Colne Health Centre official opening, had still not been transferred to the new site.
In August we reported an agreement had been reached and that the pharmacy move would take place “as soon as possible”.
Responding, a NHS Property Services spokesman said: “The lease and all terms and conditions between NHS Property Services and Colne Pharmacy have now been agreed and plans to relocate the pharmacy into the new health centre are well under way. As part of their proposed fit out of the new health centre, the pharmacy has independently proposed the installation of an air conditioning unit to their space within the property which will require planning permission from the local council and is a delay that we have no control or authority over.
“Once planning permission has been received, the pharmacy will be able to commence the fit out proposed.”
