Year 11 students at Colne Primet Academy enjoyed a magical night of food, football and dancing at their Prom at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors.
Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa is a 700-year-old 175-room property, and was once a country manor.
It has seen its fair share of meetings and events, but few of its events have surpassed the fantastic night experienced recently by Colne Primet Academy’s Year 11 students at their end of year prom!
Prom celebrates students’ completion of GCSE exams, and gives students the chance to say goodbye to each other and to their teaching staff after five wonderful years together at the academy.
The students arrived in a variety of different ways; some arrived in a Ferrari; others on a motorbike; and others still in a camper van!
From 7 to 11.30pm, the students enjoyed a three-course meal, watched the World Cup, and then danced the night away!
At the end of the night, the students were escorted back to the academy for their final time on the academy’s coaches.
Suzanne Brady, head of student experience Key Stage 3, said: “The evening was a great success – and everyone looked truly fabulous!”
