A GRADE II listed property in Colne has been added to a “problem building” list.
Pendle Council’s Colne and District Committee will now write to the owners of Old School House, in Exchange Street, to question the future use of the site.
The building has been empty for several years, and has previously appeared on the problem sites list to try and find a new use for it, and because of its condition.
The wooded structure had suffered from a defective roof. A Section 215 noticed was served in October, 2011, after owners failed to carry out repair works.
On a report submitted to Colne councillors it said: “The exterior of the structure looks sound from the recent inspection undertaken.
“The site has a high stone wall surrounding it, which masks the condition of the inner courtyard from the public view.
“There has been no contact from the owner since compliance with the S215 notice.
“The building therefore remains vacant with no prospective use.”
