A free course helping Pendle people avoid financial crisis is on offer at churches running a debt counselling centre. The next course to launch will be at Living Hope Fellowship. in Halifax Road, Brierfield, from 1-30pm on Monday.

Churches have partnered with UK charity Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to run the courses following on from the success of their CAP Debt Centre.

It will mean that anyone who struggles to keep on top of their personal finances will be able to learn how to balance their budget, stop relying on credit and begin saving for the unexpected.

“We’re really excited to be offering this new service to the people of Burnley and Pendle,” said CAP money coach and debt centre manager Lorraine Sprowell.

“Our debt centre has been a real hit with many people who thought there was no way out of their financial crisis and now we’re hoping we can show that it’s not impossible to sort your household budget and prevent further problems.

“Experience tells us that when you can manage your money, life is greatly improved. You’re less likely to have rows with your partner and you can begin to plan ahead.”

“Everyone is welcome. Please don’t think you have to be a maths genius – we have the tools and can help make it straight forward. All you need to bring with you is a determination to improve your finances.”
