A POSTMAN who stole almost 20,000 items of mail is facing jail.

Keith Allen (54), of St Mary’s Avenue, Barnoldswick, admitted interfering with the mail and three counts of theft, between November 2007 and June last year.

The defendant was bailed until March 16th for a pre-sentence report at Burnley Crown Court.

Judge Beverly Lunt warned him: “The court will be considering all options, including imprisonment and you should get yourself ready for that.”
