A wanted appeal was launched by Lancashire Police and Ganley was subsequently re-arrested and charged with failing to adhere to his bail conditions.

Ganley appeared at court on February 24th and was sentenced to 28 months in prison. He was also given a restraining order to protect the victim, a 22-year-old woman from Burnley.

PC Oliver Tattersley, of Lancashire Police, said: “Ganley is clearly a dangerous offender and who attempted to avoid answering for his crimes by going on the run.

“Fortunately officers quickly caught up with him and I am pleased he’s finally been brought to justice.”
