Colne burglary assault victim (80) dies: man (24) in court

A PENSIONER who suffered severe neck injuries when she was assaulted during a burglary at her home last month died in the early hours of Saturday.

Connie French (80), of North Street, Colne, was attacked during the burglary in the early hours of March 27th in which an alarm pendant and £230 in cash was stolen.

A post mortem will be carried out later this week to determine the cause of death.

A 24-year-old man has appeared in court charged with burglary and assault and was remanded on bail to appear at Burnley Crown Court on Monday.
