RESIDENTS in Colne are being warned to keep an eye on their garden taps, following a spate of thefts in the area.
Thieves have been breaking into gardens in Horsfield and Vivary Bridge stealing brass taps.
Police say there have been four incidents in the past week and believe the people responsible may be connected to the recent spate of lead and scrap metal thefts in the town.
Sgt Damian Pemberton said: “We would urge anyone with information about metal thefts or anyone who has been offered brass taps, to get in touch. It is likely that the thieves will be weighing them in so someone must know something.”
Residents are being asked to remain vigilant and if possible fit plastic replacements for the taps.
Anyone with information should call 472441.
