Police have issued crime prevention advice after a spate of burglaries in Barnoldswick in the last fortnight.

There have been three dwelling house burglaries in the Beech Street area where offenders have used bodily force to break into properties.

Sgt Kim de Curtis, of Colne and West Craven Police, said: “Please can residents ensure that they do not leave valuable property near windows where they can be seen such as tablets, phones and handbags.

“Please consider security lights are the rear of your property and do not leave wheelie bins at rear walls or under windows which can make it easier for offenders to climb into yards and up to windows.

“Secure gates and look out for your neighbours. If anyone sees any suspicious activity contact the police on 999 and inform the operator that the area has had recent burglaries.”
