A 59-YEAR-OLD man from Kelbrook has appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court in connection with an alleged multi-million pound conspiracy to defraud.
Frank Darlington, of Vicarage Road, is one of 14 defendants alleged to have been involved with fraudulent mortgage applications that made profits in excess of £20m.
No pleas were indicated when the defendants appeared before the North Wales court.
Darlington has been charged with conspiracy to defraud; falsifying, concealing or destroying documents relating to a serious fraud investigation; conspiring to conceal, disguise, convert, transfer or remove criminal property and conspiracy to make false documents.
It follows a two-year investigation by North Wales police. The defendants include a solicitor, surveyor, valuers and mortgage advisers.
They were all were granted unconditional bail at the preliminary hearing before Judge Merfyn Hughes QC, and a plea and directions hearing was fixed for September.
