Man charged with murder

Police investigating the death of 49 year old Stephen Whitehead in Burnley have charged a man with murder.

Aaron Jenkins (20), of Devonshire Road, Burnley, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Burnley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A 16 year old girl from Padiham has been charged with perverting the course of justice and is also due to appear at Burnley Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police were called by the ambulance service at around 8am on Monday, July 27th after Stephen Whitehead was discovered at the business premises of Pendle Skips in Balderstone Close, Burnley, with significant head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination established the cause of death as extensive head injuries.
