A PRELIMINARY hearing has taken place at the crown court this morning in the case of a 33-year-old man accused of murdering a Nelson mum.
Carl Field, of St Philip’s Street, Nelson was not produced from custody for the hearing at Preston Crown Court. He has been charged with the murder of 34-year-old Debra Walsh, whose body was found at her flat on Norfolk Street on Monday.
The case was adjourned for a plea and case management hearing to take place in the week of May 23rd.
A trial date has been set down for September 12th, with an estimate of around two weeks.
Defence counsel Mr Tony Cross said there was no application for bail.
Field was remanded in custody by the Recorder of Preston, Judge Anthony Russell QC.
