Nelson heroin dealer gets long jail sentence

A HEROIN dealer who supplied drugs in Nelson has been jailed for four years eight months.

Amar Riaz (21), of Every Street, Nelson, appeared at Burnley Crown Court on Thursday after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin.

He was arrested on February 27th after police stopped a car on Every Street and seized a quantity of heroin.

Sgt Martin Storey from Pennine Division’s Targeted Crime Team said: “This is another significant sentence handed out by the courts that should act as a warning to other drug dealers.

“If you are involved in the supply of drugs within Pendle, expect to be dealt with robustly by the police and put before the courts.”
