A VW Golf was stolen from a Clitheroe leisure centre after thieves broke into a locker and swiped the keys.

The owner returned to the changing rooms at Ribblesdale Pool and Edisford Sports Complex after a swim and discovered to his horror that his locker had been broken into.

His car keys, iPhone and a wallet containing £150 was also taken. At the same time thieves raided another locker and stole a wallet, smartphone and the keys to a Citroen C4 Picasso, but the vehicle was not stolen. Police investigations are continuing into the theft, which happened between 10 and 10-45 am yesterday (Sunday). The VW Golf was later recovered in the Greater Manchester area.

Witnesses are urged to call Clitheroe Police on 101.
