Police are appealing for help to find a 74-year-old man who is missing from home in Fence.

Peter Roberts went missing from his home in Wheatley Lane at 9-30am today. He is believed to have boarded a Preston-bound train from Burnley at 11-30am but has not been seen since.

He is described as 6ft. 2in. tall, of medium build with mousey blonde hair which is receding and has a long face. He wears metal-framed glasses and is thought to have been wearing a dark jacket, brown trousers and shoes and a leather strap watch. He also walks with a limp and is believed to have been carrying a silver walking stick and a holdall.

Insp. Graham Marshall said: “We are getting increasingly concerned about Peter and his family are very worried about him.

“We know he enjoys going to the Whalley area and is often seen near Fence and I urge anybody who has seen him or knows where he is to contact us.

“Similarly, if Peter sees this appeal, I urge him to get in touch with us or his family to let us know he is safe.”
