Keith Sandham, Watch Liaison Officer for Pendle, said: “There have been similar thefts in Burnley and Rossendale lately and is a national issue. Please be aware of this if you own such a vehicle. There are web sites that sell locks and alarms, with universal locks in the region of £100, a little more for a vehicle specific model.

“Type ‘catalytic convertor thefts’ into a search engine. It should bring up a selection to have a look at.

“No doubt local dealers and accessory shops will be able to advise on security measures too.”
