Witness appeal after Nelson daylight street attack

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Nelson.

The incident took place in Leeds Road at 2pm on Saturday.

It is reported that a white van pulled up next to a man, the offender got out o and punched the victim twice to the head.

The victim, a 32-year-old local man received minor injuries and was left shocked following the incident.

PC Victoria Mountford said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed what happened to come forward and contact the police.

“I am keen to speak to a woman who I believe witnessed the incident who was waiting at the nearby bus stop. It is important she comes forward as I think she may have information that can assist us in finding the person responsible.”
