A WOMAN has been left shaken after she was mugged in Colne town centre.
The 48-year-old woman was walking along Market Place at noon on Friday, April 15th, when a man ran up to her grabbing her handbag and another shopping bag.
He then ran off in the direction of the Co-operative in Market Street.
Police have described the man as in his 20s, of Asian heritage, with a goatee beard.
He was wearing denim jeans, a short black anorack and white trainers.
Det. Sgt. Charlie Haynes from Pendle CID said: The incident took place in the middle of the day in a busy part of the town centre.
“The woman was left shaken and with bruises.”
The handbag was black with a silver buckle and contained a savings account book, bank cards and keys.
A silver gift bag was also stolen which contained cosmetics.
Police say they are examining CCTV footage of the incident.
