Young dad is jailed for attacking partner
A young dad has been jailed for 16 weeks for attacking his partner.
Callum Heaton (20) had been drinking when he kneed the victim in the head in a sustained assault. He dragged her back into the house when she tried to escape, magistrates were told.
Heaton claimed he would have trouble abiding by a curfew said it would be setting him up to fail if the bench imposed a community penalty.
The defendant, of Cog Lane, admitted assault by beating and criminal damage. He must pay £200 compensation and a £115 victim surcharge.
