Dancers step out to raise cash for hospice

Nimble footed dancers have walked their way to raising the grand total of £1,300 for Pendleside Hospice.

The students, who all attend Basically Cheer and Fitness, took part in the Little Hospice Heroes Walk to support their teacher Lianne Hill, who is a regular fund raiser for the facility.

Lianne teaches children from the age of four at her school at BASICS in Plumbe Street, Burnley, and she holds an annual Zumbathon to raise money for the hospice.

Her last event was a Zombiethon on Hallowe'en and with the help of her students she raised £1,300.

This brings the grand total to date raised by Lianne to £4,000.

The latest fund raiser was especiallty poignant for Lianne as last year she was reunited with her father, Ray Clough, just months before he died in June.

He was treated at the hospice and Lianne got the chance to see for herself how it works.

She said: "I always knew they did tremendous work at the hospice but it was amazing to see for myself the work the staff do, they were incredible and I can't thank them enough for what they did."
